The easiest way to visit Saturnia hot springs

If you try to get to Saturnia by bus or train, it’s a bit difficult option. The nearest train station to Saturnia is Albania on the coast. From there, you take a bus to Manciano (bus no are 41 or 11), where you change buses to Saturnia (bus no 17). normally it takes about 2:15, and the buses run every 3-5 hours.
The bus trip from Florence to Saturnia is about 6.5 hours, and the trip from Rome to Saturnia is 2.75 hours. So it is better to rent a car.
The roadway to the Saturnia is tight. It might be hard for bigger vans/trucks to make a move toward the parking area. But don’t worry about the parking spaces.

Driving to Saturnia from Rome
There are two general ways to arrive from Rome. The main route travels west from Rome to the coast and follows the E80 north to Montalto di Castro. From that point, take the SP105 inland to the SP74, which prompts the SP10 and right to the hot springs.
The other way might be longer because of traffic, heads inland, and up the E35 to Orvieto before traveling west on the SR71 to the SR74.
Driving to Saturnia from Florance
This winding route takes due south off Florence, heads past San Gimignano, through Siena, and eventually winds up at the springs. The route numbers change a great deal. However, there are barely any turns. Take the SS674 to the SS223 to SP64 to the SP323 to the SP10. This way is more difficult than the other way from Rome.

Some helpful tips when you are visiting Saturnia Hot Springs
Visting Saturnia hot springs is a bit complicated task for a new visitor. Here you have some helpful tips to get a better experience.
As you drive down the tight path called Via Della Follonata, you will see some vehicles are parking on the road. Do not park your vehicle here!! It would be best if you came to the end of the road, and you will see the blue color parking area. You can park here with a bit of safety but don’t forget to keep your valuables safe in the vehicle.
There are limited services at the Springs. Only one or two snack bars there. So the better thing is to bring some snack packs with you.
Don’t forget to bring water shoes.
There are many rocks and pebbles in the springs area; also, they are wet and slippery. We highly recommend to were water shoes to prevent of fall down on the rocks.
Remove your valuables before entering the water.
The Saturnia warm showers have high sulfur content. You should remove all jewelry, particularly any jewelry item containing sulfur. It is ensured to discolor… seriously. Remove all jewelry, including rings, watches, studs, and jewelry pieces, and leave them in your vehicle.
The sulfur mixed water also can ruin your expensive bath were, sunglasses, Mobile phones, and cameras. It’s better to keep them away from the water.
How to enjoy Saturnia hot Springs?
The springs are free for everyone. You will see some kids and adults are splashing, playing, and enjoying the water. If you wish more privacy, you should go a little further. You will have fewer people and cool water than the top.
The springs are open 24 hours every day, 365 days per year. Come early or arrive behind schedule for fewer visitors.

- Water and some snacks – There are only one or two snack bars to buy snacks near the springs.
- Suncream – Saturnia Hot Springs generally have full sunlight on the whole day. It can dry and burn your skin badly. We highly recommend applying suncream before entering the area.
- Bath suites – Every visitor hopes to bathe in hot water, so don’t forget to bring suitable bath-ware for the journey.
